Regular Outings to our Bordering Reserve

Regular hikoi (walks) to our bordering reserve are an integral part of the children's learning.  They are valuable for children’s health and well-being and to connect them with a natural environment that they get to know intimately through all the seasons and changes of weather.

Jodie, parent of a gorgeous daughter

We pull up outside our centre and my daughter knows where we are. She is settled and secure here and that is due to the love and care from her teachers. I also see this in the other children in the centre.  It is run and feels like a real home, which is highly appealing for parents who are leaving such young babies. We especially love the outside space as there are trees, grass, a sandpit and a safe area to play and run around. It really is special for children having the trees and flowers to look at.

Nigel & Cath Montgomery, parents of two beautiful

We particularly enjoy and respect the effort that the team makes to organise inclusive family events such as the recent wearable art exhibition which was great fun. Communications and presentations around curriculum content are also much appreciated as they help us to track the children's progress and development.  We have many fond memories of our family's time at pre-school and can honestly say that it will be a sad day when our youngest "graduates" next year and we leave the Ellerslie Village family behind. We do not hesitate recommending Natural Steps to anyone wanting a professional, fun and safe environment for their little ones.

Tui, mother of an active boy

I went while I was pregnant and was welcomed into the Natural Steps family straight away, I was shown around the whole place and my partner and I both felt at home, I knew this was the place for our son.
